Gerimis Mengundang, an adaptation by film director Ahmad Idham, of the popular theatre musical of the same title, is a dramatic love story taking place in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and Jakarta, Indonesia. Starring Malaysian actor, Kamal Adli, as Zamani, a chopper pilot at Sabah Air who falls in love with Indonesian lass, Mikha (starring Olivia Jensen), the daughter of an Indonesian ambassador, Pak Harjo - though at first mired in misunderstanding, when Pak Harjo met with a fatal accident en route to Tamparuli, Sabah, Zamani consoles Mikha's loneliness and hardships of losing her father, leading to a romance sparking between the two. Notwithstanding his feelings towards her, Mikha later introduces Zamani to Doni, her childhood friend and fiance. Gerimis Mengundang conveys many differing emotions - frustration, pain and suffering, love and bitterness and desperate longing. With their societal standings and her engagement with Doni, will Zamani's love for Mikha prevail? Showing simultaneously in four countries - Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Brunei - on May 31st . Gerimis Mengundang was shot 80% in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and 20% in Jakarta, Indonesia. Also starring in this film are, Felix Agus (AF3), Henny Yuliani, Denny Martin, Dhitra Marfie, Ag.
