  • Synopsis
  • It is 1945 and the war has come to an end. The Yame family, a family of seven, are living at the home of a family friend in Hakata. Masako (Shibasaki Kou), 17, the eldest daughter, has been supporting the family in place of their useless father, Tokijiro (Nishida Toshiyuki). Despite leading an improverished life, the Yame family is cheerful, healthy and gets along well.

    But not so long, another one of Tokijiro's get-rich-quick-schemes falls and the people of Hakata start pointing fingers at the family and talking about them behind their backs, Masako proposes that the entire family moves up to Tokyo...
