With such stringent mental and physical demands, only one per cent of all Coast Guard officers can make it into this hallowed fraternity. Fourteen young Japan Coast Guard officers try to survive an extremely rigorous 50-day training camp to become rescue divers. Among them is Daisuke Senzaki (Hideaki Ito), a sea lover whose strong desire to be centrestage in salvage and rescue operations has brought him to the Academy.

When the training camp’s drill sergeant Minamoto (Tatsuya Fuji) pairs Senzaki with by far the weakest candidate in the group, Hajime Kudo (Atsushi Ito), Senzaki finds himself being held back at every stage of his training and forced into extra push-ups and KP duty. However, Senzaki gradually becomes inspired by Kudo’s earnest desire to become a rescue diver and decides to help Kudo hone his skills after hours.
