It is set primarily in Hong Kong and was filmed in faithful studio sets recreating the actual courtrooms and chambers. The series tells the story of Mun Tao's redemption of sorts, from his obnoxious beginnings at the start of the drama and his gradual transformation into a less self-centred person. Every episode ends with a cliffhanger, which adds to the suspense. The numerous events are interspersed with drama, mystery, comedy and intrigue. The drama also features a cast of interesting supporting characters, including Ting Ting, Mun Tao's estranged daughter, Sophie, his beauty parlour-boss-girlfriend, Darren, the lawyer's apprentice and Ga Sun, the gruff but kind hearted deliveryman.
