  • Synopsis
  • Huang Fei Hong (Jet Li) is an experienced detective with brilliant kung fu skills who waiting for his retirement now. While he tries to stay away from troubles, his sergeant Angela (Michelle Chen) assigns a reckless partner Wang Bu Er (Wen Zhang) to him. During their first mission together - an undercover sting, they missed the target and instead goes after an escaping suspect Chen Hu (Collin Chou Yun Lung), spoiling the sting in the process. The commissioner (Ma Yi Li) is furious, and orders Angela and her two bumbling underlings to begin work on the “Smile Murders” case, of which every one of the dead has a strange smile on their face. Fei Hong and Bu Er come across a series of disasters during their investigation. Fei Hong may appear to be muddle-headed, but he is the real master of kung fu, and at the most crucial moments, help Wang get out of sticky situations. Initially, Bu Er was suspecting budding actress Liu Jin Shui (Liu Shishi) is the prime suspect, more suspects emerge including an insurance sales agent Dai Yi Yi (Liu Yan). However, both of them have alibi for being elsewhere at the time of murder. Jin Shui agrees to pretend to be Bu Er’s girlfriend to lure the killer out of hiding.
