One night, after being accidentally kicked by Warlord Gu Xuanwu's (Wang Yan Lin) cavalry, Wu Xin plummets down an abyss, Injury-stricken Wu Xin then encounters Yue Ya (Gina Jin), who gives him half of her steamed bun. For repaying his debts of gratitude owed to Yue Ya, Wu Xin takes a job to kill monsters. By accident, he lets an ageless demon, Yue Yiluo (Chen Yao), slip through his fingers, and has been hounded by her ever since.

This makes Yiluo's admirer, Chief of Staff Zhang Xianzong (Zhang Ruoyun), so jealous that he sends his troops to go on a deadly shooting rampage at Wu Xin, resulting in the destruction of Wu Xin's body. The only item rocovered is a hand, which in the case of Yue Ya and Master Gu gradually regenerates back to a humanoid figure. Though Wu Xin is determined to settle into a simple life with Yue Ya, someone appears uninvited, entailing an even bigger secret of Wu Xin other than his immortality. Even worst, at the same time, a catastrophic crisis is brewing...
