  • This movie takes place after the Ultraman Cosmos TV series. In addition to all three types of Cosmos modes, (Luna, Corona, Eclipse), there are two new modes (Space Corona and Skeleton Corona).

    The movie takes place on location in Saipan. Many characters from the first movie will be reprising their roles. The main team is SRC's Team SEA, which specializes in protecting and analyzing sea monsters. Kido from the first Cosmos movie serves as the captain of these marine specialists. There are also Hyuhga (portrayed by the same actress as Ryoh of Ultraman Dyna's SuperGUTS), Makabe (a marine biologist), and Kanoh (a data wrangler portrayed by the same actor as Kariya of SuperGUTS).

    A bad monster weapon is named Scorpis. It is from deep space, has many weapons, and has a flight mode and ground battle mode. When Scorpis invades the Earth, it is confronted by a good subaquatic monster named Rayja. Team SEA has been analyzing Rayja for a few years. Rayja can communicate with others of its kind via sonic waves. There are two mysterious young human friends of Rayja named Jean (a boy) and Shau (a girl). They hold the key to the movie's plotline. Musashi encounters Shau during the course of the the Scorpis invasion. Aliens seem to be pursuing an important project in Earth's sea, and a flurry of communication begins with the arrival of Scorpis.

    There will be a woman named Mari from the first movie. She studied biology in college, and her motto, like Musashi's, is Believe dreams, attain goals without giving up.

    The movie also introduces Ultraman Justice, the 29th official Ultraman.

    The Blue Planet will be accompanied by a short all-Ultra compilation called Ultraman DENSETSU (Legend).
